PETALING JAYA: Maxis says it has identified the individual linked to the circulation of a local content creator's account details on social media, following an investigation into the incident.
"We have identified the individual linked to this incident and are taking immediate action, including legal action," the company stated, adding that it is also reaching out to the affected customer.
"All access to customer accounts is fully logged and monitored. Our findings indicate that this is an isolated incident involving an unauthorised action.
"There is no indication of any broader incident involving other customers," Maxis assured in a statement today (July 21).
In a post on Threads, the content creator had sought an explanation from Maxis over an alleged leak of his billing details, which was reportedly made public by another user.
The user allegedly claimed that the content creator has an overdue bill of over RM490.
"We sincerely apologise for this incident. We remain deeply committed to data privacy and protection of personal data," the company added in its statement.
