PETALING JAYA: RHB Bank has announced that its mobile banking app will no longer support smartphones running Android 10 and below, or iOS 15 and below, from June 1 onward.

In a notice posted to the RHB Group website, the bank says that the change comes as part of its ongoing effort to ensure a safe and secure online banking experience, as the older versions of Android and iOS have stopped receiving security updates from Google and Apple.

Those who lose access to the app on their device will still be able to log in to RHB Online Banking via a browser, but will not be able to perform financial transactions as Secure Plus approvals are only available through the mobile app.

Customers will need at least Android 11 or iOS 16 to continue using the app after the cutoff date, though RHB Bank recommends updating to Android 13 or newer, or iOS 17 and above, for greater security.

The bank says that those without a compatible device may need to upgrade their smartphones to continue using the app.
