WASHINGTON, Dec 15 (Reuters) - The U.S. government launched a campaign on Monday to hire 1,000 engineers for two-year federal positions, including those who have artificial intelligence expertise, according to a senior Trump administration official.
The engineers will tackle specific projects inside government agencies, including building a digital platform for the Trump administration's savings accounts for children, said Scott Kupor, the director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. The goal is to hire the first round of engineers by March 31, Kupor said.
