OpenAI has announced that users can now generate images on WhatsApp.

Users can text ChatGPT through the number 1800 242 8478 and ask the AI bot to create an image.

Based on LifestyleTech's check, the process takes about two minutes.

When asked to generate another image, the bot responded: "You've hit the free plan limit for image generation requests. You can create more images when the limit resets in 23 hours and 40 minutes."

To generate more images, ChatGPT on WhatsApp advised users to link a Plus account (US$20 per month, or around RM85).

With account linking, OpenAI explained that users' WhatsApp phone number will be "associated" with their ChatGPT account.

Conversations on WhatsApp will be stored as part of their ChatGPT activity history.

Basedon information on its Help page, the company currently doesn't allow users to unlink phone numbers from OpenAI accounts.

WhatsApp has introduced AI image generation and chat via Meta AI. However, the feature is currently available in a limited number of countries.
