The emerging social network Threads is ending the year on a high. The application reached an impressive milestone, achieving 300 million monthly users. This performance testifies to the growing popularity of this platform, which has gained momentum following the decline of X, formerly known as Twitter.

In the space of a year, the Meta Group's new social network has gained momentum. With 200 million new subscribers, the Threads platform has now reached 300 million monthly active users.

Since Donald Trump won the US presidential election, and given the considerable support he received from X boss Elon Musk, some users have chosen to leave the social network in protest.

While Bluesky has benefited from this exodus, growing to reach 25 million users, Threads has also done well. The platform has announced that it now has 100 million daily active users, compared to 250 million on X.

In addition to having reached a new milestone on the path to overtaking X and its 570 million monthly active users, the social platform was the most downloaded app in the world on iOS in November 2024, with 11 million downloads, according to data from AppFigures. At this rate, the gap could quickly close.
