Image-generating artificial intelligence tools are becoming increasingly easy to use. They're also becoming more readily accessible, as in the case of Midjourney, which will soon break away from Discord, a mode of operation that still puts off many Internet users.
Midjourney has gained a reputation for being the best image-generating AI tool around. To use it, you need to have an account on the Discord messaging platform, which is popular in certain circles, but whose rules of use can be off-putting to less savvy Internet users. This is about to change with the launch of a dedicated website, Midjourney Alpha, which is far more intuitive and easier to understand.
This site offers features more suited to general users, such as assistance in generating prompts with suggestions, or access to a multitude of public searches to help you perfect your skills. You'll even be able to work with images you've uploaded to the site. Last but not least, your history will be grouped together in a single, easy-to-read interface.
The site is already available at alpha.midjourney.com, but only to those who have already generated more than 10,000 images on Discord.
This type of high-performance tool needed a period of testing with a limited number of internet users to perfect its technology. At the beginning of 2024, Midjourney is set to open up to a wider audience with a simple-to-use interface. The other major reference in this field, Dall-E, from OpenAI, also broadened its audience this fall by being integrated into ChatGPT Plus, the paid version of the most famous AI chatbot. Subscribers can now generate images from any written prompt.
