You can now have a real conversation with ChatGPT, transformed via its mobile application into a multipurpose voice assistant. OpenAI has announced that ChatGPT Voice, the feature that lets you chat with its AI bot, is now available to all.

As Sam Altman returns to the helm of OpenAI after several turbulent days, the publisher of ChatGPT has announced (more) big news. From now on, all users can take advantage of the text-to-speech capabilities of its AI agent. This means you can now have a chat, ask questions and interact with ChatGPT, making its use more intuitive than ever.

From today, ChatGPT users can start a conversation with their assistant, which responds to them by means of a synthetic voice. All you have to do is press the headphones icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your smartphone screen, provided that the application is up-to-date. Once you've launched this feature, you no longer need to hold the phone in your hand or even look at the screen.

All you have to do is talk to the voice assistant, which will immediately recognize the language (English, French, etc). All your conversations will be stored in your history in the form of written transcriptions, which you can then delete as you wish or keep as an archive.

Unlike Google Assistant or Siri, ChatGPT won't be able to interact with your smartphone's features or other applications. Instead, it will be able to answer practical or general knowledge questions, give advice, read educational content, and even tell stories (but not funny ones, as ChatGPT has little or no sense of humor).

While this feature is available for everyone, it could prove particularly useful for the visually impaired. What’s more, it enables more natural, user-friendly interactions, enabling an experience similar to that of using a voice assistant. – AFP Relaxnews
