Over on Twitter, long-form content is hot. After getting the ability to write long tweets, users are now also able to post two-hour videos. A new option that is already being used for sharing pirated movies.

It's official. Twitter Blue subscribers have access to a new feature: the ability to publish videos lasting up to two hours. Elon Musk himself announced this option, which is currently only available via the twitter.com website or on the iOS application. Android subscribers are limited to 10-minute videos, while other users can still post 140-second videos, or videos of up to 2 minutes and 20 seconds.

Previously, Twitter Blue subscribers were already able to upload one-hour-long videos to the social network. This option was used by some users to share illegally pirated movies on Twitter. By the end of April, "The Super Mario Bros. movie" had accumulated more than 9 million views via this platform.

This time, the account @coinbilly_ chose to share the movie "Shrek 3" and in fact did so, directly in a comment in response to the tweet of Elon Musk. Online for a while, the video was deactivated and the account was blocked for copyright infringement. Other users also took the opportunity to share other movies like "A Bug's Life."

Twitter has taken a turn toward more video, and Tucker Carlson recently announced that his talk show, booted from Fox News, would be heading to Twitter although Elon Musk specified that "Tucker is subject to the same rules & rewards of all content creators" on the platform. The arrival of Linda Yaccarino, the former head of advertising and partnerships at US media conglomerate NBCUniversal, as the new head of Twitter, highlights this new emphasis on audiovisual content. – AFP Relaxnews
