TikTok rolls out mini games in Malaysia

Following tests in Vietnam earlier this year, TikTok has finally introduced its MiniGame feature in Malaysia.

Users of the social media platform can add a game to their posts by tapping "Add link" and then selecting the "MiniGame" option before uploading their video.

The games can then be played by viewing a post with a linked game – made by another user or yourself – by tapping on the title of the game in the description section of the video.

Users can also record themselves while playing the games and use the footage to make more posts.

Currently, TikTok has made 11 mini games available in Malaysia, which does not include some titles that it previously previewed, such as Zynga's Disco Loco 3D.

The titles available on the platform include:

• RestZoo
• LoveTester
• Basketball FRVR
• Peek a Who
• Pride Run
• Influencer Run
• Space Destroyer
• Couple Challenge
• Mr. Aim Lab's Nightmare
• Kitten Force FRVR

This feature has been available on TikTok's Chinese version, DouYin, since 2019, and testing on the English version began in May.

TikTok, which has partnered with developers like Zynga, Voodoo, Nitro Games, FRVR, Aim Lab and Lotum, expects to add more titles.
