Malaysia will be hosting the ESL One 2022 tournament at Arena of Stars in Genting Highlands, Pahang on Aug 26-28.

The event features a US$400,000 (RM1.76mil) prize pool where 12 professional Defense of the Ancients 2 (Dota 2) teams – a multiplayer online battle arena game – are set to compete. According to its website, teams from China, South-East Asia and Europe are expected to be a part of the line-up.

Malaysia has hosted ESL One back in 2017 and 2018.

Tickets for the 2022 event are available for purchase online, priced from RM69 for a one-day pass to RM399 for a three-day pass with goodie bags and other perks.

ESL One 2022 will be the second Dota 2 esports tournament to be hosted in the region. Previously, it was announced that Singapore will be playing host to The International 2022 where the finals will be held on Oct 29.

Local esports fans are in for an exciting year as Malaysia is also playing host to a number of other tournaments.

The PUBG Mobile Pro League starts today to June 12 at Pavilion Bukit Jalil Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

It was also announced that the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2022 will be held on June 11 to 19 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec).
