Join a faction, fight aliens: 'Elex 2' for PC and consoles

Video games made in Germany are by no means rare, but achieving international success is less common. In 2017, development studio Piranha Bytes scored a hit with the role-playing game "Elex." Five years on, the sequel has arrived.

In "Elex 2” players once again slip into the role of the protagonist Jax. This time, too, he has to save his world from an imminent danger – aliens who want to take over the planet Magellan.

The first task for Jax is to convince people that the aliens exist. In the course of the game you can join five different guilds, but they’re not particularly friendly towards Jax. Each faction has its own orientation and you have to win their trust.

The well thought-out social structure makes navigating Magellan a real adventure full of small and large discoveries. As is typical for the genre, after a fairly peaceful introductory phase, numerous battles have to be fought.

The open world of the planet Magellan is based on that of the first game, but there plenty of new areas to explore.

However, you shouldn't expect miracles from the graphics, which are rather reminiscent of past console generations. But since the focus is more on the extensive story anyway, this should be bearable for RPG fans.
