Qatar, world champion of VPN use

Nearly one out of two Qatari Internet users has downloaded a VPN app since the beginning of the year. — AFP Relaxnews

VPNs have never been so popular. In the first half of 2021 alone, no less than 616 million such apps were downloaded worldwide, according to Atlas VPN. That’s more than double the number in all of 2020.

Qatar appears proportionally as the country where the use of a VPN is the most widespread, ahead of the United Arab Emirates and Singapore.
