KKMM Deputy Minister Zahidi Zainul tests positive for Covid-19

PETALING JAYA: Deputy Communications and Multimedia (KKMM) Minister Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin has been confirmed positive for Covid-19 after receiving the result of an early screening test this morning (Jan 13).

In accordance with guidelines set by the Health Ministry, Zahidi has been taken to the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor for further treatment, KKMM said in a statement.

He is in a stable condition and apologised for any inconvenience caused.

The Covid-19 test was conducted after Zahidi arrived in Kuala Lumpur from Penang on Monday (Jan 11).

Zahidi is the latest minister to test positive for Covid-19 after Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed; Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun; and Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

Zahidi is also the MP for Padang Besar, Perlis.
