Waze has announced that users can now plan a drive using its Live Map and then save it to the app to travel now or later.

To access the new feature, go into the Live Map website and then click Log In which should be on the top right corner of the map.

A pop-up window will ask users to scan the QR code on the screen to log in and sync their activities on the Live Map to the Waze app on their mobile phone. Scan the code to open a link that will sign you into Waze on mobile. A notification saying “You’re logged in on the web!” should appear to inform you that this process is successful.

If users can’t scan the QR code, they can click on ‘Log In Another Way’ to log in with a Google account or username and password instead.

Just like Waze on mobile, start planning for a drive by setting the current location first and then choose a destination on the Directions box that should be on your left. Then decide on whether you plan to leave now or at a later time – on the desktop, you can do it up to six days in advance.

Then click on the Save to app button. You will then get a notification on your app asking if you're Ready To Go and you can click to start your drive.

If you had planned to leave later, Waze on mobile will inform you when it’s time to leave based on live traffic updates. On the mobile app, this direction will be saved under Planned Drives. Ideally, users should also have already enabled the Tell Me When To Leave feature.

Under Planned Drives, users can view the drives that they have scheduled and click on the three dots symbol. A window will pop up to let users edit arrival time, find parking and even remove the drive if they no longer need it.

Back to the Live Map on computer, you can also click on the Share icon to generate a link and share directions with others.

According to Waze, this new feature now works on both Android and iOS devices.
