Huawei has unveiled its latest device, the Nova 5T which has four rear cameras, priced at RM1,599 at a global launch in Kuala Lumpur.
Its rear quad-camera setup includes a 48-megapixel main camera, a 16-megapixel ultra wide angle camera, a 2-megapixel camera for macro or extreme close-up shots and another 2-megapixel camera for depth shots. Selfie lovers are also catered to with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
The company claims that the new AIS Super Night Mode on the device is able to capture detailed images even under low-light conditions. Other camera features include 3D Qmoji Expressions and Super AI HDR+ that promises to increase details in images for better photos.
The Nova 5T's 6.26in display boasts a 91.7% screen-to-body ratio and 2,340 x 1,080 resolution. The device is powered by Kirin 980 octa-core processors and comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage space.
Running on Android 9, the device has a battery capacity of 3,750mAh with a fast charging feature, a side fingerprint scanner as well as dual nano SIM support.
Huawei Malaysia deputy country director for consumer business group Matthew Ng said the company has sold up to two million Nova models since it was first introduced locally in 2017 through the Nova 2 series. The latest Huawei Nova 5T is targeted at younger hip consumers with Ng dubbing the model "a trendy icon of innovation".
Customers who pre-order the device will receive gifts worth up to RM325, which include a pair of Huawei mini speakers and a Huawei SuperCharge in-car charger, while stocks last.
After the pre-order period, customers who purchase the device will receive the Huawei SuperCharge in-car charger, which is subject to availability, while customers who purchase the device from Aug 29 to Sept 31 will receive an extended one-year warranty.
Available in three colour options namely Midsummer Purple, Crush Blue and Black, the Huawei Nova 5T will be available in stores nationwide on Sept 7.
At the same event, Huawei also unveiled the new MediaPad M5 lite tablet with a 10.1in display, full HD IPS screen (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) and Harmon Kardon-tuned quad speakers.
Powered by Kirin 659 octa-core processors, the tablet comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage space, 8-megapixel front- and rear-facing cameras, and runs on Android 8 with 7,500mAh battery capacity.
Priced at RM1,299, the M5 lite tablet will also be available for pre-order from Aug 29 to Sept 5 along with such pre-order exclusives as a Huawei mini speaker and M Pen stylus worth RM268.
