Daania dazzles in Surabaya with maiden ITF U-18 crown


PETALING JAYA: Malaysian rising tennis star Daania Daniella Hazli (pic) has captured the nation’s attention after claiming her maiden ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors (Under-18) singles title at the J30 Surabaya – Widjojo Soejono Junior International Championships in Indonesia.

The 15-year-old left-hander delivered a commanding performance throughout the tournament, defeating older and higher-ranked opponents before triumphing over top seed Shinar Zahra Sunggoro of Indonesia in the final with a stunning 6–0, 6–3 victory.
