Klang: Opting for a different way to build camaraderie ahead of the competition led to Kedah winning their first Malaysia Games (Sukma) rugby sevens gold at the Sultan Sulaiman Stadium in Klang yesterday.

Their 14-2 win over Perak in the final completed a remarkable turnaround for the northern state, who endured a disappointing campaign in Sarawak two years ago when they failed to get past the group stage and finished ninth overall.
