Haznil falls short of bronze but team kata offers redemption

KARATE exponent Haznil Henry missed out on a bronze medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Games after losing 0-5 to Hong Kong’s Howard Hung in the third-placing playoff of the men’s individual kata event at the Toyohashi Gym­nasium yesterday.

The 21-year-old Haznil had earlier lost 0-5 to Fong Man Hou of Macau in the last 16 but made his way to the repechage.
