Women’s recurve team win silver


BANGKOK: The Malaysian women's recurve team had to settle for a silver after losing 3-5 to Indonesia in the final at the Thailand Sports Authority Archery Range here on Wednesday (Dec 17).

The quartet of Ariana Nur Dania Mohd Zairi, Joey Xing Lei Tan, Ku Nurin Afiqah Ku Ruzaini and Syaqiera Mashayikh lost the first 54-57 to the Indonesians.

But in the second, the Malaysians held the Indonesian team, Diananda Choirunisa, Ayu Mareta Dyasari, Fathiyya Erista Maharani, and Rezza Octavia, 55-55.

In the third, Malaysia bounced back 53-51, but in the most important fourth game, Malaysia lost 53-58.

Meanwhile, in the men’s recurve team bronze medal playoff, Malaysia, composed of Mohd Syafiq Bustamin, Chern Xin Quik, Hayqal Danish Shamsul Afandi and Zarif Syahir Zolkepli beat the home side Thailand 5-3.
