Double bronze for M'sia in sepak takraw chinlone

BANGKOK: The national men’s and women’s sepak takraw settled for bronze medals in the chinlone (linking) event at the Nakhon Pathom Gymnasium Stadium on Wednesday (Dec 10).

The men’s team finished with a score of 160 in fourth place, but shared the bronze medal with Laos who scored 375.

The Malaysian team consisted of Zuleffendi Sumari, Farhan Adam, Aidil Aiman Azwawi, Amirul Zazwan Amir, Mohd Hairul Hazizi, Azlan Alias, and Zarif Marican Ibrahim Marican.

Myanmar won the gold medal after scoring 574, defeating hosts Thailand who settled for silver with their score of 501.

Meanwhile in the women’s event, Malaysia also finished fourth with their score of 77, sharing bronze with Laos who scored 315.

The women’s team had Veronica Asli, Siti Norliafitri Musmuliadi, Siti Norzubaidah Che Ab Wahab, Razmah Anam, Kamisah Khamis, Nadillatul Rosmahani Saidin, Siti Hadinavilla Jumidil, and Siti Hadifitri Navilla Jumidil.

Myanmar got double gold in the event as the women’s team also won after defeating Thailand 502-446.
