PETALING JAYA: Bernice Lu Teng Wong brought joy to Malaysia after bagging gold in the World Dance Sport Federation (WDSF) Adult Female solo Latin category in London last week.
Bernice expressed her happiness and gratefulness after winning the WDSF competition in London.
“I feel very happy, overwhelmed and relieved with all different emotions going around at the same time. I feel proud that I’m able to bring back this cup for Malaysia,” said Bernice.
She added that a lot of hard work went into refining her movements and executions to prepare for this year’s competition.
“I will continue to put effort into improving myself after this.
“My focus is on improving my execution and performance,” said Bernice, who is looking forward to performing in the Borneo Open International Championship and Convention (BOIDC) tournament in Kuching, Sarawak, this weekend.
She is also preparing to compete in the WDSF World Championship in Sarajevo, Bosnia, from Nov 28-30.
The 23-year-old is now ranked in the top seven in the Adult Female solo Latin category.
There was more joy as Cherry Yeo Xiao Wei and Tan Li Xuan also took home the silver and bronze respectively to complete a Malaysian sweep in the Adult Female solo Latin category.
