MSSM C’ship a symbol of country’s aspirations, says Azman

PETALING JAYA: The 2025 Malaysian School Sports Council (MSSM) calendar will start in May and will see 24 sports being contested in this year’s national school sports competitions.

The Education Ministry-MSSM-Milo Championship will start in Melaka on May 8-11 as the cross country event will be first and the calendar will cover the other sports until September all across the country.

Education Ministry director-general Azman Adnan said the championship is not just an ordinary sporting event but also a symbol of the country’s aspirations in building a better, balanced and ready future generation to face the challenges of the global world.

“I’m confident that with the continued effort and strong commitment, we can achieve greater success and produce more world-class athletes.

“We need to reach more students by giving them the opportunity to participate in MSSM championships that align with their interests and abilities,” he said.

The championship is also powered by Milo and this year marks their 70-year partnership with the council in supporting young athletes and developing grassroots sports.

Milo Malaysia business executive officer Ng Su Yen said the brand is committed to nourishing future champions and supporting the development of school sports in the country.

“We believe sports play a crucial role in building healthy and active communities.

“Through sports, individuals develop values like discipline, resilience and teamwork,” she said.
