PETALING JAYA: C. Shahmalarani (pic)brought the smiles back to the national karate team with some impressive performances in the Karate 1 Premier League in Paris.

The reigning SEA Games champion lost in the quarter-finals after going down 1-6 to Natalia Vargova of Slovakia on Friday but she can hold her head high.
