Melaka takes first Sukma gold in Sarawak

Bryan Ti Kai Jie delivered the first strike for Melaka by becoming the first gold medallist in the 21st edition of Sukma Sarawak in Kuching today.

The 20-year-old scored 9.600 points for his routine to win the men's nanquan event at the SSC Wushu Hall in Petra Jaya.

The men's nanquan contest was the first final event for wushu.

Perak's Foo Mun Fei got the silver with 9.560 points while hosts Sarawak settled for bronze through Fung Tai Leong (9.550).

Wushu offers 28 gold medals over three days of competition. A total of 488 gold medals are up for grabs over the next 10 days of competition.
