PETALING JAYA: The Matrix Duathlon 2023 powered by NX113 will make its highly anticipated debut in Bandar Sri Sendayan, Seremban, on Nov 25-26 with electrifying run-bike-run showdowns that promise to ignite the township.
The Duathlon event is a multi-sport competition that combines the disciplines of running and cycling organised by Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad and sanctioned by both the Negri Sembilan Youth and Sports Ministry and the Malaysia Triathlon Association. It also serves as the National Duathlon Championships.
The nation’s top triathletes will compete for one final time this year following the previously held National Championships for Triathlon (swim-bike-run) and Aquathlon (swim-run).
The 18-year-old Isaac Tan will be aiming for his third consecutive title after emerging victorious in the last two championships held as part of the NX113-run annual series – the Triathlon Desaru in July this year and the Aquathlon Putrajaya in October 2023.
The National Duathlon Championships in Bandar Sri Sendayan will take place in the Sprint category, involving a 5km run, 20km cycling, and a final 2.5km run.
In addition to the main event on Nov 26, the other three races, which comprise the Standard and Mixed Relay (10km run, 40km cycling, 5km run) as well as the Super Sprint (2km run, 10km cycling, 1km run), are set to provide equally thrilling and competitive contests.
“We are thrilled to introduce the first-ever Matrix Duathlon 2023 to our community. This event aims to promote health, wellness, and a spirit of friendly competition among participants. “Athletes of all skill levels are invited to participate in this unique event, which will feature both standard and sprint distances,” said chief marketing officer of Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad Lim Kok Yee.
