Rani eyes blazing comeback

PETALING JAYA: Karate exponent C. Shahmalarani fell short of a podium finish at the Asian Games in Hangzhou but she believes the setback will only add fuel to the fire in her bid to win a medal at the World Championships in Budapest from Oct 24-29.

Much was expected of Shahmalarani in the women’s below 50kg in Hangzhou, after all she had beaten World Games gold medallist Junna Tsukii of the Philippines en route to winning her second SEA Games gold in Cambodia in May.
