Malaysian Dota 2 team bags bronze medal in Asiad


HANGZHOU: The esports team has contributed a bronze for Malaysia in the Dota 2 event at the Hangzhou Asian Games on Monday.

The Dota 2 team comprising Chan Kok Hong, Cheng Jin Xiang, Thiay Jun Wen, Tue Soon Chuan, Yap Jian Wei and Ng Wei Poong rallied to beat Kyrgyzstan 2-0 in the bronze medal tie at China Hangzhou Esports Centre.

Malaysia went into the bronze medal match after losing 1-2 to favourites China on Sunday.

A total of 14 teams took part in the Dota 2 event at the Asian Games.

It is the second medal for Malaysia in esports in Hangzhou. Malaysia lost 0-2 to China in the final of Arena of Valor event to settle for silver last week.
