KUALA LUMPUR: The opening ceremony of the 9th Asean Para Games has begun.
The event started with the arrival of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to the Bukit Jalil National Stadium here on Sunday night.
This was followed by the parades of the national flags and then of the athletes from all the participating countries as well as the introduction of the Games' mascot, Rimau, the Malayan tiger.
What came after was an exciting performance display which culminated with a song by Yuna to much cheering from the crowd.
The Asean Para Games will be held from Sept 17 to 23.
