TAIPEI: Malaysian Iain Steel carded a four-under 68 to trail leader Lu Wen-teh of Taiwan by one shot after the first round of the inaugural Yeangder Tournament Players Championship (TPC) here yesterday.
The 39-year-old Steel was on fire on the back nine, picking up four birdies for a four-under 32. He had a topsy-turvy round on the front nine with two bogeys and two birdies. He is currently lying in second spot with Takafumi Kawane of Japan, Australian David Gleeson, Artemio Murakami of the Philippines and Kwanchai Tannin of Thailand.
