PETALING JAYA: Swimmer Daniel Bego (pic) provided the only bright spark among the five Malaysian swimmers who kicked off their campaign in the qualifying heats at the World Championships in Rome yesterday.
Daniel managed to set a new national record in the men’s 50m butterfly, clocking 24.38 to break his record of 25.07 set in the Malaysian Open back in 2006.
