Pepe apologises for tripping Torres

MADRID: Real Madrid defender Pepe admitted on Wednesday he tripped an opponent who was consequently sent off for diving.

Pepe tripped Osasuna winger Juanfran Torres inside Madrid’s penalty area in the 82nd minute of Sunday’s Spanish league match with Madrid leading 2-1. Instead of awarding a penalty, referee Alfonso Perez Burrull gave Torres a yellow card for diving, and it was his second booking fo the match.
