KL Plus FC beef up side by signing Selangor duo

PETALING JAYA: Newly-promoted KL Plus FC have strengthened their side with the signing of seasoned midfielders Mohd Fadzli Saari and Safiq Rahim from Selangor for their debut season in the Super League, which will kick off in January.

The duo turned down the FA of Selangor’s (FAS) offer to extend their contracts in order to play for KL Plus.

KL Plus chief coach Mat Zan Mat Aris was delighted with the signings as he felt that they badly needed experienced hands for their maiden outing in the top flight.

He said it was important for the team to get quality local players following the departure of the foreign players.

The FA of Malaysia (FAM) had decided to do away with the services of foreign players for next season.

Mat Zan said the attacking trio of Nigerian Alex Agbo and Brazilians Tercio Nunes Machado and Andrin Dario Tranidad were instrumental in KL Plus’ runners-up finish in the Premier League last season. Kuala Muda Naza finished as champions.

“We are glad to have Mohd Fadzli and Safiq on board. We still need an out-an-out-striker,” said Mat Zan.
