Unheralded Heidi dishes out a stunning swim

LAST month, Khoo Cai Lin shattered Nurul Huda Abdullah's 20-year-old national record in the women's 200m freestyle at the Malaysian Open tournament.

Yesterday, little-known Heidi Gan of the Federal Territories came within a whisker of bettering Cai Lin's 2:04.63 national mark in the Sukma swimming competition. The 19-year-old Heidi won in 2:04.64, just 0.01sec off the national mark.
