KUALA LUMPUR: World champion Malaysia's Nicol David kicked off her season in perfect fashion by claiming the women's crown of the CIMB Kuala Lumpur Open at the Berjaya Times Square here on Saturday.
In front of nearly 3,000 fans, the top seeded Nicol had to dig deep into her reserves to beat arch-rival and second seed Natalie Grinham of Australia 6-9, 9-3, 9-6, 7-9, 9-6 in the final.
