PETALING JAYA: While most other former Petaling Jaya Municipal Council (MPPJ) players are busy looking for new teams, former national defender Lim Chan Yew can only sit and wait.
The 28-year-old will be out until the end of the year after undergoing surgery on his right heel last month.
Chan Yew and his MPPJ team-mates were left stranded after the club side pulled out of the M-League last month.
“It's just very sad about the way things have gone for MPPJ. I only played for them for one season,” said Chan Yew who moved from Public Bank to MPPJ last season. “But it's now time to look forward. I believe I made the right decision to undergo surgery.
“The pain has been there all season and it made it difficult for me to play at my best.
“Now that the surgery is over I am going to concentrate on recuperating and regaining my fitness,” added Chan Yew.
“I won't start looking for a new team until I have fully recovered,” he said.
“I am aware that willput me in a difficult situation since the league starts in December. All the teams in the Super League would have settled their rosters by that time.
“I will have no choice but to sign up with a lower rung team and slowly prove myself.”
