LONDON: Manchester United's Alan Smith knew he sustained major injuries during the weekend's FA Cup defeat against Liverpool because “when I looked down the leg was lying one way and my ankle was pointing to Hong Kong”.
The England international, who has since undergone surgery, broke his left leg and dislocated his ankle after coming on as a substitute in Saturday's 1-0 reverse at Anfield after charging down a John Arne Riise free-kick.
