SIC rope in Miss Indonesia as F1 ambassador

Meet the new ambassador for the Malaysian Formula One Grand Prix. She is 21-year-old Miss Indonesia Nadine Chandrawinata.

PETALING JAYA: Miss Indonesia NadineChandrawinata is the F1 ambassador for the 2006Petronas Malaysian F1 Grand Prix. 

And the 21-year old rising star is ready to woomore Indonesian fans to Sepang F1 Circuit for theevent scheduled for March 17-19. Malaysia are thehosts of the second round of the F1 World Championships,which begin in Bahrain on March 12. 

“I hope to continue the good work of Artika(Sari Devi) and get more people, especially inIndonesia, to be interested in this great sport,”said the 1.74m tall Nadine, who is an ardent fanof 2005 world champion Fernando Alonso. 

Before Nadine, the promoters of the MalaysianGP, Sepang International Circuit (SIC), hadIndonesia’s beauty queen Artika, Bollywood starCelina Jaitley and Malaysian singer Ning Baizuraas their F1 ambassadors. 

Nadine, who was introduced as the F1 ambassadorfor the Malaysian GP at the Sepang circuityesterday, said that she was excited over theprospect of meeting Alonso and other F1 drivers.As the F1 ambassador, Nadine will also appear atroad shows organised by the SIC in Indonesia.
