GARFORTH (England): Socrates, one of Brazilian football's all-time greats, swapped the south American sunshine for the bitter cold of northern England on Saturday with a 10-minute cameo appearance for tiny Garforth Town.
As part of an ambitious plan hatched by the club's businessman owner and manager Simon Clifford, the 50-year-old trotted on as a late substitute in the 2-2 draw with Northern League rivals Tadcaster.
