Coach: Young paddler Shakirin is a talent for the future

PETALING JAYA: National rookie paddler Mohamed Shakirin Ibrahim is going places based on his courageous showing in the 16th Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships, which ended at the Kuala Lumpur Badminton Stadium on Sunday.

The 18-year-old Shakirin, who made heads turn when he snatched the gold medal in the boys’ singles event at the Malaysia Games (Sukma) in Negri Sembilan last month, even won praise from national coach O Kum-choi of North Korea.
