Portugal acts against football violence after brawl

LISBON: Portugal, which hosts the Euro 2004 Finals this summer, said on Monday it would ban fans with a history of violence from matches after spectators clashed with police during a weekend Premier League match.

“Fans who do not know how to behave inside stadiums must not be allowed to attend games,” secretary of state for sports, Herminio Loureiro, told Portuguese radio TSF.
