Double strike by Sinclair

LONDON: West Ham United midfielder Trevor Sinclair scored twice and goalkeeper David James made several fine saves to secure a priceless 2-1 victory at fellow relegation strugglers West Bromwich Albion yesterday.

Michael Owen ended an eight-match scoring drought but Liverpool’s indifferent form continued as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat at Birmingham City in the day’s other game in the English premier league.
