SEPANG: It was a rollercoaster ride for Lewis Hamilton as a tyre gamble almost backfired before a stunning recovery saw him finish third in the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Hamilton had done everything he could to prepare for battle at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC), but the unpredictable Malaysian weather threw his plans into disarray.
