SEPANG: Max Verstappen clinched his first pole position of the year at a track where his name stands as the last Formula One winner nine years ago.

Verstappen will park his car on the first grid spot at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) for the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia today after fending off a close chase from Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull teammate Isack Hadjar yesterday.
