PETALING JAYA: High discipline and the ability to understand and apply team feedback will be crucial to Hakim Danish Ramli’s success as he embarks on his first full season in the Moto3 World Championship, according to former MotoGP rider Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah.

Hafizh, who recently won the ASB 1000cc title at the Asian Road Racing Championship, said consistency, humility and strong work ethic are essential for Malaysian riders competing at the highest level.

He stressed that trusting the team’s guidance and making continual adjustments are key to building confidence and competing with Europe’s best.

“At the same time, always stay humble and train well. Understand the feedback the team give and we try to do it,” he said.

“I hope Hakim Danish can do his best, always improve from one race to another. Believe in the process, believe in yourself and always work hard,” he said.

Hakim, 18, will join the MT Helmets MSI team after showing impressive performances in the JuniorGP World Championship and the Red Bull Rookies Cup.

The Terengganu-born rider finished the JuniorGP in eighth place overall and secured third place overall in the Rookies Cup.

Hafizh also shared his experience competing in Asia by describing each championship as having a different character that demands its own approach, especially during race week.

“Wherever I go, I will learn even though I have experience in MotoGP.

“For example, when I participated in the Asian competition last year, it was clear that it (the championship) had a different character, so I need to change my approach during the race week.

“Regardless, the experience I have really helped me when competing in Asia.
