PETALING JAYA: Thai rider Nakarin Atiratphuvapat claimed the 2024 MSBK1000 title after securing a commanding victory in Round 4 of the MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK).
The Honda Racing Thailand rider took the win in Race 1 at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) yesterday, crossing the finish line with a time of 17:02.770s.
He set the fastest lap of the race on lap three with a blistering time of 2:06.732.
Despite mounting pressure from riders behind him, Nakarin held his composure to maintain a consistent pace to lead the race from start to finish after qualifying in third place.
“It was an amazing race and an incredible result. This has been a really good season in MSBK.
“I’m proud to have clinched the championship early, and I’ll give my best in Race 2. A big thank you to my team for their support throughout the season,” said Nakarin.
Boon Siew Honda Racing’s Azroy Hakeem Anuar came in second, while Horizon Racing Team’s Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman rounded off the podium.
