Comeback A-kid shines in Penang

Mohd Akid Aziz of ONEXOX TKKR Racing Team

PETALING JAYA: Rider Mohd Akid Aziz has redeemed himself by posting the fastest time in the 10th round of the CP150 category at the Malaysian Cub Prix Championship.

Representing ONEXOX TKKR Racing Team, Akid blazed the track with a time of 51:121s at Stadium Batu Kawan in Penang yesterday.

In the last edition in the circuit in 2019, Akid was not able to complete the final race when he was declared ‘DNF’ (did not finish).

Mohd Izzat Zaidi of PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha – CKJ Racing Team came in second with 51:163 while Kasma Danial Kasmayudin of PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha Maju Motor posted 51:189 to finish third.

In the first and second practice sessions, Akid’s fastest lap time was at 52:425 and 51:394 respectively.

Meanwhile, in the CP125 category, Mohd Haziq Hamdan of Honda KC Racing made the fastest lap time of 53:668 in the qualifying session.Mohd Syafiq Rosli of PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha Maju Motor, came in second after clocking a time of 53:752 while Mohd Khairi Asyraf of YYPang Yamaha Racing Team finished with a time of 53:879.

Haziq currently occupies the tenth spot in the overall standings with a total of 63 points.
