Izzat shows he’s the rider to chase in CP150

PETALING JAYA: Mohd Izzat Zaidi Mohd Salehan of Petronas Sprinta Yamaha-CKJ Racing registered the fastest time in CP150 qualifying at the Petronas Malaysian Cub Prix Championship and will start first on the grid at the Sepang International Circuit today.

Although the day started with a downpour, followed by gloomy weather throughout the qualifying session, the rider aboard the Yamaha showcased a fine performance when he clocked in at 1:15.134.

Izzat’s ability on the Sepang circuit was highlighted last season when he also posted the best lap time.

Although the CP150 category has become more challenging this season with the participation of highly skilled riders, Izzat maintained his position and proved his ability by manoeuvring his bike at maximum speed.“The set-up of my machine was good, and although I faced some technical difficulties, I managed to complete the session fastest,” said Izzat.

The second fastest spot went to Azroy Hakeem Anuar of the Honda Yuzy Idemitsu team when he logged in at 1:15.175.

Azroy’s teammate Shahrol Syazras Shahrol Yuzy came in third at 1:15.384.

For the CP125 category, Mohd Irfan Haykhal Amidi of Honda KC Racing bagged the fastest spot in the qualifying session, logging in at 1:20.907.

It was an excellent achievement for Irfan, considering his setbacks in the last two races this season, where he did not finish.

The second fastest spot was taken by Mohd Syafiq Rasol of the ONEXOX TKKR Racing team when he registered 1:20.917.

Mohd Adib Rosley of YYPang Yamaha Racing took the third fastest spot with a time of 1:21.234.
