Afif finishes first in CP150 race

PETALING JAYA: PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha–CKJ Racing enjoyed a fruitful outing when their rider Ahmad Afif Amran finished first in the CP150 category race.

The Yamaha rider managed to beat favourite Mohd Haziq Fairues to first spot in a time of 14’36:498s.

In a closely contested race Afif strengthened his pace during the last lap and found the opportunity to strike at the final turn.

“It was a tough race for me today. Although I was leading in the beginning, Haziq managed to take the lead throughout the race. My challenge was to strengthen my position and keep up to his pace and while it was not an easy ride, I managed to find an opening at the final turn and quickly made my move.” said Afif.

Pteronas Sprinta Yamaha Maju Motor’s Haziq checked in at 14’36:653s while his teammate, Nazirul Bahauddin finished close behind at 14’42:303s.

Meanwhile, in the CP125 category, it was double joy for ONEXOX TKKR Racing team when they grabbed the first and second podium spot.

Mohd Hafiza Rofa and Mohd Shafiq Rasol were the heroes for their team when they completed the race at 11’43:329s and 11’44:012s respectively.

“The race was a competitive one with many of the riders taking their chances to take the lead. I fired my shot when I found the opportunity and maintained my pace until the end of the race.” said Hafiza.

Tobaki Pink Racing Team’s Mohd Harith Farhan finished third with a timing of 11’45:596s.

PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha – 31 Racing finished with a clean sweep after all three of their riders bagged a spot at the podium.

Mohd Syamil Amysar who took pole position immediately made his move and took the lead.

He managed to stave off the challenge of his teammates and finished first in 8’43:929s.

His teammates, Mohd Danish Aiman clocked in at 8’44:224s while Md Adam Haikal Jahar came third in 8’44:442s.
