Muizz provides the fizz with two podium finishes

PETALING JAYA: Muizz Musyaffa (pic) earned two podium finishes for Malaysia in the seventh event of the Formula 4 SEA - fuelled by Petron - at the Sepang International Circuit over the weekend.

Muizz finished second in Race 3 and 4 to finish third overall ahead of Finn Elias Seppanen of Finland.

Hadrian David of France took three race wins and the weekend trophy, despite fierce competition from Josh Smith of Australia.

Smith won Race 4 ahead of David to clinch the second overall place.

Muizz could have grabbed a second podium in Race 1 on Saturday but he slipped down while jostling to move up. The Malaysian driver managed to fight back to take fifth place.

In Race 2 in the afternoon, Muizz had a good start and showed he was on pace by setting the fastest lap.

Muizz gave David a good fight but the French driver held on to finish the 11-lap race on top.

It was a cautious time for Muizz in Race 3 on Sunday morning due to the rain as all he did was to defend his position till the chequered flag.

Seppanen leads the 10-event championship, comprising four races each, with 446 points followed by Allen (432) and Oman’s Shihab Al-Habsi (338). Muizz is the best placed Malaysian in fourth spot with 281 points behind Smith (303).
