Germany lifts seventh Junior World Cup title


PETALING JAYA: Germany are the Junior World Cup champions for the seventh time.

The mighty European side took down traditional rivals France 2-1 in the final at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Saturday (Dec 16).

Germany's goals were scored by Jan Cordes (32nd minute) and Liam Holdermann (24th).

France first took the lead through Jules Verrier in the 17th minute.

Spain meanwhile finished third after beating India 3-1 in the 3rd-4th classification, which was held earlier on the day.
